On Tour: Virtual 2022
Every fall, thousands of students are introduced to Shakespeare when we tour Shakespeare's work into classrooms and communities throughout Nebraska and the region.
In 2019, we performed 39 shows and facilitated over 90 educational activities in 17 counties.
The 2020 live experience was canceled due to Covid. However, Nebraska Shakespeare did provide a virtual event with a film viewing and live zoom conversations with educators.
Here we are in 2021, and we are excited to offer Romeo and Juliet!
On Tour: Virtual (2022)
Romeo and Juliet on Tour
This past fall, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and donors, we were able to travel across the State of Nebraska and bring live, in-person, professional theater to our schools and community centers. Our original Hip-Hop version of Romeo and Juliet was enthusiastically embraced by the students, educators and communities. While on the road, we had to acknowledge that the pandemic, budgeting, and scheduling challenges that exist in our school systems today, would significantly diminish the impact we hoped to achieve this year. As an arts organization who is committed to reaching audiences throughout Nebraska and beyond, we are always exploring opportunities to make our work accessible, available and as low-cost as possible. If you are an educator, a homeschooler, a community group or just someone who loves Shakespeare, we have created a very special educational opportunity we are calling VIRTUAL SHAKESPEARE. For a limited period of time,
you can access our fall tour...at home!
