Juno's Swans
Utilizing an all-female ensemble, Juno’s Swans explores Shakespeare’s characters and text through the feminine experience and perspective.

"And wheresoe'er we went, like Juno's swans, Still we went coupled and inseparable."
- Celia speaks of her friendship with Rosalind in
As You Like It (I.3)

Juno's Swans kicked off on July 10th, 2016 with the program's debut event, a staged-reading of The Taming of the Shrew, presented free of charge in the UNO Theatre, located within the Weber Fine Arts Building on the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus.

A perfect juxtaposition to that season's all-male production of The Taming of the Shrew at
Shakespeare On The Green, this all-female reading presented a different perspective on Shakespeare's “gender-themed” play.

The reading included a discussion with the company about the approach and gender perspectives of the production.

The ensemble was comprised of current Shakespeare on the Green professional artists in addition to invited Nebraska Shakespeare veterans.
