The Program
Shakespeare On The Green is a three-week celebration of Shakespeare that includes two plays that run in repertory, nightly forums, and activities for all ages. Performances have earned national recognition for consistently high-quality productions set in beautiful Young park and performed for enthusiastic audiences.

The Play
Based on the comedy by William Shakespeare

Two pairs of young lovers escape the strict confines of family and rule to find themselves wrapped in the arms of an enchanted and unpredictable forest where sprites lurk and fairies rule. While a feuding Fairy King and Queen are at war, the mystical inhabitants play havoc with the four as well as with an unsuspecting theatre troupe, turning everyone's world upside down. Chief mischief-maker Puck is on-hand to ensure that the course of true love is anything but smooth, and games of fantasy, love and dreams ensue in Shakespeare’s most beguiling comedy.
