THOMAS MILLER, GRAPHIC ARTIST 


After serving as Site Manager and Event Staff Coordinator for several years, Tom joined Nebraska Shakespeare in 2018 as the staff graphic artist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is currently the director of orchestras and theatre arts at Buffett Middle School and has taught in the public-school system for 18 years. In 2019, he was named the American String Teachers Association Nebraska Teacher of the Year. He has been on the teaching faculty of the Omaha Conservatory of Music, the Leo Kucinski Academy of Music at Morningside College, Omaha Area Youth Orchestras, and currently, the Sharon North Jones Studio of Music (where he also serves as head of strings).

Tom is an active performer throughout the community and often travels nationally and internationally to perform. As a professional bassist, he has played with Harry Connick, Michael W. Smith, Josh Groban, Howie D, the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, the Mantovani Orchestra, the North American Tour of Spamalot, as Principal Bass for the Sioux City Symphony (10 years), Orchestra Omaha, Resonance, and served as a guest artist for the Jazz Series at Buena Vista University. He has also directed, been on stage, and in the pit orchestras for over 150 musical and theater productions
